DT4DT / DEEPTONES for DARK TIMES is a platform recently brought to life by Belgian double bassist Kristof Roseeuw, emerging from a two-year period of intensive exploration into the instrument’s diverse sonic possibilities and rhythmic potential — an instrument he has embraced for some 35 years: the double bass.

Roseeuw builds on his long-standing fascination with the immense sonic world and the unexplored possibilities contained within this colossal instrument. Driven by a desire for in-depth research, he was recently awarded a research and development grant to further pursue this work.

Every now and then, Roseeuw surfaces in the form of a solo, duo or ensemble, briefly coming up for air in the presence of his oh-so-precious audience.
